CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support

About This Course

METS trainers will inspire you in building a career where you can make a difference in people’s lives. Learn to work effectively in a range of community settings and client homes, empowering people with disabilities to reach their full potential.

This nationally-recognised course includes 7 core and 3 electives. Further develop your knowledge and skills to work without direct supervision and to supervise and/or coordinate a small team in. Content will include:

  • Facilitating the empowerment of people with disability
  • Provide person-centred services to people with disability with complex needs
  • Developing and Providing Individualised Support
  • Facilitating Community Inclusion and Participation
  • Manage legal and ethical compliance.

Students must have computer literacy and literacy skills and be above the age of 16 to enrol. Students under the age of 18 will require a parent or guardians’ permission to enrol.

Accelerated Pathway to Diploma of Community Services with Ikon Institute of Australia

METS has partnered with Ikon Institute of Australia to offer an Accelerated Pathway for learners completing the CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability. This pathway allows you to progress seamlessly into the Diploma of Community Services at Ikon, building on your Certificate IV studies and practical experience.

Through this program, you can:

  • Transition from Certificate IV to diploma-level study
  • Complete your diploma through the Accelerated Pathway with credit from your Certificate IV units
  • Access tailored support and guidance from both METS and Ikon educators

Duration

  • Trainees – 24 months for a fulltime employee 36 months for a part time employee
  • Fee for Service (Self funded) – an enrolment period of 2 years will be given, extensions can be applied for however further enrolment fees will apply.

Entry Requirements

To gain entry into this course students need to have completed one of the following Certificate III qualifications;

  • CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability) OR
  • CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability) OR
  • CHC30408 Certificate III in Disability in addition to CHCSS00125 Entry to Certificate IV in Disability Support Skill Set.
